The Theatre at Washington, Virginia, is located in the county seat of Rappahannock County, about 65 miles from Washington, D.C., in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. In recent years the town has been put on the map as the home of the famous Inn at Little Washington. The Theatre presents a wide variety of musical and dramatic performances, usually on weekends and often for one or two performances only. The Theatre is known for its professional musical performances, including the noted Smithsonian at Little Washington chamber music series, and many well known classical instrumental and vocal artists. The Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community presents a monthly film series at the Theatre on Friday nights.
