The Southwest Virginia 4-H Educational Center is located on 75 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands 1.5 miles north of historic Abingdon. Opening its doors in 1960 as a 4-H Camp, today the Center also hosts retreats and educational events for youth and adults. In addition to a junior Olympic size pool and other recreational facilities available for rental, the Center has available a modern, year-round small groups conference center. This building, named the Dickenson Conference Center, contains 48,000 square feet of flexible conference space. Satellite downlink and Internet connections are available in the building. The facility has lodging accommodations for up to 58 people. Each lodging room is complete with a private bath and air conditioning.
