Day One:
Get off the interstate and take a leisurely drive on Big Walker Mountain National Forest Scenic Byway. Whatever the season, you will see some of the area’s most beautiful scenery.
Once you’re at the top, visit Big Walker Lookout and Country Store. You’ll find a one hundred foot climbing tower, a swinging bridge and a country store filled with locally made crafts and unusual souvenirs. They have home-made fudge and hand-dipped ice cream cones, too!
We have over 60 restaurants for your dining enjoyment, and you can spend the night in one of our 25 group-friendly hotels.
Day Two:
Just a short drive from the town limits is Beagle Ridge Herb Farm, a 160-acre wooded retreat with over four miles of hiking trails as well as herb gardens and seasonal events. While you’re in the mountains, be sure to look for zebras and camels at the 45-acre Fort Chiswell Animal Park! All ages will enjoy the “Outback” experience as you are taken on a guided trip where you can get up close and personal with animals from six of the seven continents.
Your night time entertainment will be found at Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre where you will be served a four-course meal followed by a Broadway-caliber musical!
You don’t have to drive far to be a million miles away when you visit Wytheville, Virginia. Small town…..Big Experience!
