Chestnut Ridge Farm is a quiet piece of heaven along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Floyd, VA, just off MP 152. Built in the late 30’s, Max’s House is a classic farmhouse with updates for comfort. New bath and updated kitchen add comforts travelers desire while the flavor of the original home is maintained. Lacy curtains, wooden floors and rockers abound. Many of the antique furnishings are original to the home. Max’s House gives you a hug as soon as you enter the door. Guests have the entire house at their disposal.
Acres of field and a babbling creek await wanderers just out the back door. In season, apple trees droop with bright red fruit next to the house. A walk to the end of the road (dead end) leaves visitors in awe at the long range mountain views and ends at a peaceful pond. This makes for lots of quiet, bird song, rustling leaves, lowing cows and crickets. Stars abound in the evening sky and mountain vistas open from every curve. Our gentle farm animals graze nearby: Highland cattle, llamas, alpaca, Jacob sheep and Angora goats. Come to experience a true getaway.
