Construction on the building occupied by Home Hardware began in 1919 and was finisherd in 1921. It was home to the Wise Hardware Company until a fire upstairs forced them to move across the street. In 1930, Home Hardwear took over the building and moved in. Home Hardware, aka, “Home of the Good Ole Boys” as they state on their Facebook page, opened in and has been in continuous operation ever since. They have a reputation for keeping hard-to-find itemsin stock, boasting “If we don’t have it, you probably don’t need it!”
Home Hardware offers a wide variety of plumbing, electrical, and welding supplies. They also have Lodge Seasoned Cast Iron cookware as well as canning supplies. They have a huge slection of all types of bolts, nuts, screws, and washers. They carry toilets, water heaters, oven elements and appliance parts. For the sporting type, they carry a large selection of Case pocket knives. They stock jams, jellies, candies, chowchow, t-shirts, novelty items, and gifts.
