Beginning in 2005 the Glade Spring Farmers Market has been operating in the Town Square in Downtown Glade Spring! It started with just a couple vendors selling produce out of the back of their vehicles on Saturday Mornings throughout the summer. The market promotes locally (50 mile radius) grown, produced and home-made items and is a true small-town farmers market. The market has grown slowly and steadily over the years, with much dedication and support from vendors and customers. This past season the market has featured 26 vendors selling homemade crafts, baked goods, canned goods, wine, pork, beef, lamb, eggs, conventionally grown produce and organically grown produce. The market is open every Saturday from 8 am until Noon, starting the last Saturday in April and going through the last Saturday in October.
