3 Days | Year Round
Day One
Check-in to the historic Martha Washington Inn and Spa. Built in the 1800’s, this building has served as a private home, women’s college and a civil war infirmary. After you’re settled, relax with a glass of wine and the girls on the front porch or in the library if it’s a little chilly.
For dinner, walk up our Virginia Main Street for dinner at the Peppermill. Located in a historic home, they offer a unique dinner menu and an inventive cocktail menu – you’ll definitely want to order mini-martini flights to share!
Day Two
After breakfast, head downstairs for a morning of pampering at the The Martha’s Spa – join your friends for a mani/pedi, relax with an aromatherapy soak or unwind with a hot stone massage. Then head out to the Courthouse Hill District for lunch at Rain Restaurant and Bar. Enjoy a unique lunch menu and a dessert to share. Devote the afternoon to shopping on Main Street – you won’t want to miss Easterly Coleman on Court, Magnolia and Necessities.
Head back to the Martha to freshen-up for dinner and drinks the Martha’s upscale casual restaurant Sister’s. Walk across the street for your show at Barter Theatre. Known as the State Theatre of Virginia, Barter delights over 160,000 patrons a year with their dedicated professional acting company. Afterward, grab desserts and coffee at Anthony’s Desserts before heading back.
Day 3
Before checking out, take a dip in the sea salt pool or stroll around the grounds. Spend the rest of the morning visiting our artisans at the Arts Depot and William King Museum. Head out to Heartwood: Southwest Virginia’s Artisan Gateway to explore the best of the region’s artisan craft, heritage music and local wines. While you’re having some lunch and enjoy a scenic view of Southwest Virginia’s Mountains – you won’t want to miss their seasonal cobbler topped with local ice cream either!
Drive out to Abingdon Winery & Vineyard for an early afternoon tasting. Pick up a little gift and a bottle of wine to remind you of your time together in Abingdon.
