Family Tubing at Waid Recreation Park

The peaceful waters of the Pigg River flowing through Waid Recreation Park is the perfect weekend escape this summer. The S-turning river with calm waters and several sections of ripples is well suited for families or individuals who desire a no-shuttle needed float.

Three put-in options allow tubers the flexibility to customize the distance and duration of their time on the water. Float it once or multiple times.

  1. The upper put-in allows for a 45 minute (1 mile) float to the lower bridge. It takes approximately 5-10 minutes to walk to the access point.
  2. The middle put-in allows for a 30 minute (1/2-mile) float to the lower bride. It takes approximately 5 minutes to walk to the access point.
  3. The lower put-in allows for a 20 minute (1/4-mile) float. The access point is directly adjacent the tube rentals shelter.

Tube rentals are $2 for 1 hr, $5 per day, or $25 for a season pass. Life jackets are provided free of charge. Children under the age of 18 must have a supervising adult present.

Groups of 10+ require one week advance reservations. Non-Saturday group rentals are available upon request. For more information call (540) 483-9293 or visit PlayFranklinCounty.com.
