Rocky Hollow Horse Camp offers comfortable cabins or camping for you and your horses. There are high country trails and spectacular mountain scenery. The camp sites have power and water are conveniently located next to the trail head for your riding enjoyment. Three forest service trails lead to various sections of the highest mountains in Virginia. Ride to the Scales in 50 minutes or take the Iron Mountain Trail for a change of pace. Get away from the crowds on and off the trails and have a guaranteed place to set up your campsite in an enjoyable family atmosphere. The camp is in close proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park and the Mt. Rogers National Recreation Area. Visit the 1908 Courthouse in Independence and take in the many festivals in the area featuring Appalachian arts/crafts, mountain music and the heritage and history of this unique area.
