Today’s Motto Monday is special to the parkway; More than a Road. The Blue Ridge Parkway is so much more than a road. It is a special journey to share with family and friends. It is a source of adventure for hikers and bikers, birders and outdoor learners. It is a place to chase the sunset, and catch the sunrise. It is a home for bears and bees, for the deer and the trees. The Blue Ridge Parkway is truly more than a road, but if using it as a road, we want to remind you of the importance of driving safely on the parkway. When driving the parkway, please be mindful of the posted speed limit, which is always a max of 45 miles per hour, and drops to 35mph and 25mph in some areas. Be aware of sharp and sudden curves, limited sight distance, and little to no shoulder availability. Everyone deserves to enjoy to parkway safely, and it is up to all of us to help. When driving the parkway, enjoy the views, but be mindful of the drive. #MottoMonday #MindfulMonday Image Description: A road winds through a forested mountain range and looks out onto a bright blue sky with clouds Photo by Harold Blackwood

THE FLOYD COUNTRY STORE LOVES YOU!!! This is an art project we decided to do because we are missing our Floyd Country Store family and friends. Each of the letters are made up of images of our special store nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. As we were getting ready to release these images sending love to our friends and family, our musicians and dancers, our locals and our international travelers… we realized, this message is much deeper and relevant than we originally thought. We want to send our LOVE to the world, and especially to people who are hurting right now. Love lives here at The Floyd Country Store. Every week we are amazed at the diversity of people visiting us from all around the world. We just can’t stand to be apart and we can’t stand to see people suffering. Please accept this token of love from us to you…. and be kind to one another. We love all of you and we challenge you to spread the love around! @visitvirginia #LoveLivesHere #VirginiaIsForLovers
