Mountain Fork Half Marathon

Cloudsplitter 100 Ultramarathon

The Cloudsplitter 100 is an ultramarathon trail running event that offers course distances of 25 kilometers, 50 kilometers, 100 kilometers, and 100 miles. The race runs the Flag Rock Area Trails system in the City of Norton and several trails and forest roads in the U.S. Forest Service's Clinch Ranger District in neighboring Wise and Scott counties.

Apple Dumpling Festival

Stuart's Apple Dumpling Festival is held in the quaint, historic "Depot" area in downtown Stuart, Virginia where the Danville and Western Railroad once ran the hills and valleys hauling products and people across Southern Virginia. The MCM10K is hosted on the same day as the Marine Corps Marathon, Sunday, October 30, 2022. It starts at the DC Mall and finishes at the same finish line as the MCM and MCM50K.

High Knob Hellbender 10K

This challenging 6.2-mile running race boasts more than a 2,000-foot elevation gain as it climbs from downtown Norton to the 4,200-foot High Knob summit. An observation tower atop the mountain offers 360-degree views of distant peaks as far away as the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and West Virginia. This will be the ninth annual climb.
