Hungry Mother State Park in southwestern Virginia is noted for its woodlands and lake. Easily accessible from Interstate 81, this park has folklore and history, swimming, camping, cabin rentals, boat rentals, hiking and the park system’s first conference center, Hemlock Haven.
Hungry Mother State Park has three campgrounds and a central dump station. Campground A has all electric and water hookups and accommodates various equipment types up to 35 feet in length. Campground B is located near the cabin area and also features sites with electric and water hookups, equipment up to 35 feet. Campground C is for tents only. There are no hookups and tents must be placed on 16’ x 16’ tent platforms.
